Lakshadweep Samudram is a five-day cruise to Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy. The mv Kavaratti takes passengers to these islands, and they spend the nights on the ship. It has 180 Diamond/First class accommodation options available. The travellers can have a great time during the day where they can go angling, swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling.

How to book Samudram Cruise to Lakshadweep?

In order to make the reservation you will need to give your names as per your government ID, age, the gender of the person(s) travelling, adhar card no, contact number, address and preferred travel date, pay the booking amount as stipulated depending on the tour package. Once the deposit has been paid, you will receive a payment confirmation. 

Booking will be confirmed after 100% payment and confirmation of seats. Cancellation policy is applicable once your booking is confirmed.

Kindly book your flight tickets only after confirmation of your booking.

Booking amount will be refunded in case of cancellation before confirmation of the sailing date/ non-availability of seats.

How to pre-book Dec 2025 to May 2026 sailing?

You can pre-book your seats according to the weekly schedule. Weekly one cruise package will be scheduled from Cochin to Lakshadweep Islands. The ship schedule is prepared by the Lakshadweep Administration. Kindly book your flight tickets only after confirmation of sailing dates.

Pre-Booking amount will be refunded in case of cancellation before confirmation of the sailing date/ non-availability of seats.

1st Class/ Diamond - 75 Twin sharing bunker bed

1. First class AC cabin accommodation (Bath attached) with bunk beds.
2. All 3 meals [Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner], morning and evening tea or coffee.
3. Bus transfer to the ship from the boarding point at Cochin.
4. Welcome drink at the island.
5. Three island sightseeing - Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy from 10 am to 4 pm.

Package Excludes:

Scuba Diving is not included in the tariff. Guests can go diving at Kavaratti by paying Rs 2000 to 2500 per dive at Lakshadweep Dive Center.

Day 1 Departure from Kochi/ Cochin

REPORTING TIME: (09 AM – 10.30 AM): Lakshadweep Warf, Behind HHA Tank, Indira Gandhi Road, Willington Island, Kochi. You can collect the boarding pass from the Manager, Lakshadweep Tourism. Please carry valid photo ID proof of all passengers (for infants – birth certificate is required).

After boarding and settling into the cabins, a short instructional video show also will be screened depicting the various facilities available on board the ship and about the rules and regulations to be followed by the tourists on board for their safety as well as for the safety of co-passengers.

LTC/LTA Eligibility:

Government employees and their family members travelling on leave can get LTC/LTA Certificate from the Sports Manger, onboard on 5th Day of the cruise.

Cancellation Policy

1. If Travel date is greater than 30 days , 10% of Tour fare + 5% GST
2. If Travel date is grater than One week and Less than 30 days , 25% of Tour fare + 5% GST
3. If Travel date is less than 7 days , No refund

In case of cancellation/ amendment, any extra charge levied by the vessel operator will be levied on the customer.

In the case of cruise packages, if the voyage is cancelled due to any reason beyond our control, inclement weather, breakdown of cruise, etc., our liability will be limited to refund of cruise package cost collected. We will not be responsible for any other loss/ damage/ expenses, directly or indirectly incurred by our guests.

Important Guidelines

1. The reporting time at Lakshadweep Wharf, Near FCI Godown, Indira Gandhi Road, Willingdon Island, Cochin, is 09.00 am. The scheduled departure time is 02.00 pm. However, the exact time of departure may vary.
2. Please note the ships cannot dock at the islands as the facility for the same is not available on the island. The passengers will be transferred to boats, which will take you to the island. It is recommended that ladies avoid saris for easier movement.
3. Persons planning to take the trip should be in sound health.
4. Avoid usage of plastic on the islands.
5. Please carry sunscreen lotion, umbrellas, caps, etc. as it may be very hot.
6. Carry a first-aid kit as per your family’s requirements.
7. Do not litter the land or the water.
8. Do not pick up/ pluck corals as souvenirs. It is a punishable offense.
9. Narcotic drugs are prohibited.
10. Do not use alcoholic drinks, intoxicants while on the islands or on the ship.
11. Nude swimming or sunbathing is strictly prohibited.
12. Do not go out of your island lagoon without permission of the SPORTS authorities and without a proper escort as it can be risky.
13. Do not pluck tender coconuts yourself. The trees are privately owned and unauthorised plucking of coconuts is a theft.
14. For the Weekend – Lakshadweep Samundram and Coral Reef packages – as you will be spending the full day on the island you can carry some extra clothes for wash and change as the facility to wash and change are available on the island.
15. All Passengers to hold a valid identity card (Voter’s ID / Passport/ Driving License)
16. Avoid booking return journey on the day of arrival in Cochin. Ship’s arrival timing is subject to weather, current port clearance.
17. Only BSNL has phone network and coverage on the islands.
